Why is it that PC gamers will pay for a buggy, unfinished (regarding content that was promised at launch,) abysmally balanced product? So much so that it has, or perhaps had by looking at various threads on this forum, the second largest subscriber base of currently available MMOs? Is it because we have been duped repeatedly by companies over the now long tenure of MMO style games, or have the developers become much more savvy that they can entice us into spending $50 by offering us a few useless items if we pre-order the product? I think both are slightly true, and developers have followed suite with the motion picture industry of creating a trailer-like experience directing our attention to the game\’s feature of the month while hiding the lack of substance. Your thoughts?
